Vivant Energy, the power arm of Cebu-based conglomerate Vivant Corporation, has officially secured a 15-year Power Supply Agreement (PSA) to provide additional dependable electricity sources for the island\u2019s growing energy demand.<\/p>\n

The agreement, signed on 30 December, follows a successful Competitive Selection Process (CSP) conducted by the Province of Siquijor Electric Cooperative (PROSIELCO). Under the deal, Vivant Energy contracted a total of 11 megawatts of capacity from its diesel power plant in Barangay Bogo, Maria, Siquijor, and will supply power to the following municipalities: Larena, Lazi, Maria, San Juan, Enrique Villanueva, and Siquijor.<\/p>\n

For PROSIELCO, the partnership marks a critical turning point for the island. PROSIELCO General Manager Glenn Galvan said. \u201cWe are excited about this partnership, and we are hopeful that upon completion of the power plant, households and businesses will gain access to stable and dependable electricity,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

As one of the Philippines\u2019 emerging tourism destinations, Siquijor\u2019s access to reliable electricity is critical to sustaining economic growth and improving quality of life for its residents. Siquijor led the Negros Island Region in GDP growth in 2024 (7.9%), reaching P13.78 billion, up from P12.77 billion in 2023.<\/p>\n
