To further understand the meaning of sustainability and its essence in the business world, here are five local fashion brands that promote and show the real meaning of it.<\/p>\n

Munimuni Studio offers various handmade tops, bottoms, and footwear that are suitable for the Philippines\u2019 tropical climate.<\/p>\n

3. Tela<\/h3>\n

Weaving the fabrics of a better future, Tela, or “fabric” in English, is a sustainable and ethical fashion brand that aims to offer sustainable solutions through fabric usage.<\/p>\n

It was founded in 2019 by a 19-year-old student named Alyssa, who wants to create a world where fashion meets sustainability.<\/p>\n

Aside from the use of upcycled fabrics and sustainable materials, Tela also revives the traditional art of Filipino handweaving, which promotes slow fashion.<\/p>\n

In a time where we are surrounded by fast fashion or trendy clothes that were mass-produced and sold at a cheaper price, we need clothing brands that lend careful thought to every piece that they will create, brands that don\u2019t extensively damage the planet and exploit their workers.<\/p>\n

Besides their trendy pieces, they also claim to be the first Philippine brand to include recycled zippers in their products.<\/p>\n

4. Lazy Fare & Lucy in the Sky<\/h3>\n

Known for their sustainable but cheap prices, Lazy Fare & Lucy in the Sky is a sustainable fashion brand that uses reclaimed fabric to create various clothing for women.<\/p>\n

All of their products are made from reclaimed or deadstock fabrics that are unused and inexpensive fabrics from garment mills or fast fashion factories. <\/p>\n

5. Kasikas<\/h3>\n

Kasikas, founded in 2019, is an all-linen fabric clothing brand that responds to the problem of the fast fashion industry.<\/p>\n

It uses different kinds of linen sourced locally to produce its clothing line, which consists of tops, bottoms, jumpsuits, and dresses that are not subject to trendy designs.<\/p>\n
