Leveraging the essence of goods being delivered to their doorsteps, a delivery mobile application disclosed that more consumers were into sustainability in terms of choosing brands and services.

Before 2023 ends, Singapore’s multi-national company Grab will share its evaluation of the food and grocery trends of Filipinos through its gathered statistics based on its users.

In the presented report, the delivery app observed that over 44% of Filipinos are willing to pay more to consume sustainable brands. Furthermore, 96% of Pinoys also expressed their support for businesses that practice sustainable practices.

In the comparison of the previous years that they have been running the mobile app in the Philippines, the company disclosed that they have seen Filipinos become more eco-conscious as they motivate more brands and businesses to invest in sustainability movements to comply with the consumer trend.

With this, the delivery app boosted the reduction of single-use plastic and other packaging costs. Moreover, the company also highlighted the essence of giving consumers options on whether they are willing to use plastic cutlery or not to avoid unnecessary consumption of plastic wares.

During the start of the pandemic, the record of Filipinos concerning sustainability practices became more dominant, mainly because the government and brands continuously promoted this kind of habit in society.

Back in 2021, the Department of Trade and Industry launched the “Buy Local, Go Lokal” campaign, which mainly promotes the presence of small and medium businesses in the country and also motivates Filipinos to engage with sustainable practices for the betterment of the Philippines.

This good insight into the progress of the Philippines when it comes to sustainability has urged more businesses to engage in such initiatives, not only to gather more consumers but also to contribute to saving the environment for future generations.
